ChronoForge, the MMO-scale social experiment built on Abstract

ChronoForge opens Early Access on September 10 on the Epic Games Store, and it is already drawing attention on Abstract Chain. Six days after launch onchain activity is rising, and loyalty looks strong. Only about fourteen percent of wallets on the last day were new, which means most players are coming back while fresh arrivals keep pooling in.

What ChronoForge is

Think real time, hack and slash combat wrapped inside a global decision engine. ChronoForge challenges the usual greed is good RPG loop by turning player choices into world scale consequences, so your run today can shape what everyone faces tomorrow. The game is developed by Minted Loot Studios with support from seasoned co-developers, while blockchain interactions and NFT plumbing are handled in house.

The mission, the catch

You gear up across twelve combat classes, fight exotic foes across time from dinosaurs to space raiders, raid dungeons and play open world mini-games to upgrade your community airship, known as a trading company, which unlocks top tier crafting. Each week the community votes, attack rivals, restrict risky technology, or activate the ChronoForge to smelt the best gear, but every activation pushes the world toward fracture, and too many activations can reset everyone's trading companies back to zero.

How Web3 fits, without forcing it

You can play free, with a simple account, or with crypto. Characters, mounts, pets, gear and loot can be minted as carbon neutral NFTs and traded by players when you want ownership and liquidity, or you can keep everything server side and play like a classic MMO. Genesis Adventurers sold out in 2022, the collection and later drops live on OpenSea and Immutable infrastructure.

The Studio Behind ChronoForge

ChronoForge is developed by Minted Loot Studios, an Australian team of around 50 artists and engineers, with additional support from AAA collaborators like Tantalus Media and Ammobox Studios. Blockchain integrations and core infrastructure are handled by the in-house Minted Loot engineering team.

In 2025, Minted Loot Studios secured two major milestones that boosted its credibility far beyond Web3: becoming a member of the NVIDIA Inception Program, which provides access to cutting-edge AI resources, and being officially approved as a Nintendo Switch Publisher, opening the door to mainstream console players.

Getting started on Abstract

If you are on Abstract, head to the ChronoForge store, mint what you need, then jump in through the Epic Games launcher. Adventurer holders get rolling development builds via the Unbreakable role on Discord, while everyone else can join public tests and the September Early Access.

Progression and currencies

Forge Stamps and UMU Badges gate prestige content without breaking balance. Stamps unlock extra crafts, new classes, traits, seasonal cosmetics, bag space and reforges, UMU upgrades your mount roster, bag size, speed and attack, and you can earn both through play or buy them in the shop after picking up a Founder's Edition.

Dungeons that stay fresh

Raids are real time co-op crawls for one to five players. Layouts, enemy packs, traits, traps and mini bosses change every run, so you adapt your plan, refine class roles and chase randomized loot. Items begin life as server assets and can be turned into NFTs with CHRONO when you decide they are worth owning.

The overworld economy

Terra is a social hub and harvesting zone. Players fish, hunt, mine and lumber, then feed materials into their trading companies, upgrade vendors, discover recipes through side quests and use ChronoForge activations to reach the highest tier crafts. The world's fiction ties it together, airships rule the skies because the surface is unstable, trade guilds set routes and taxes, and chronostorms hint at other worlds beyond.

Trading companies and politics

Your trading company is part airship, part town, and fully upgradeable through shared effort. Members buy a share, contribute resources, and vote on upgrades and conflict. Intelligence matters, different characters in different companies see different proposals, so reading rivals can be as important as grinding gear.

Classes you will learn to love

ChronoForge ships with twelve interdependent roles, tanks like Mech and Knight, healers like Warden, stunners like Engineer and Thief, ranged damage like Hunter and Rift Weaver, bruisers like Lancer and Reaper, hybrids like War Forger and Druid, and support options that reward team coordination over pay to win shortcuts.

Road to full release

The team has shipped for over two years, from NFT mints and web mini-games to public playtests and Epic approval, with Early Access now, Season One and CHRONO token utilities this year, and larger updates that add open world PVP, new platforms and AI companions on the horizon. Dates adjust with player feedback, delivery keeps moving.
